The new notification for these GDS jobs will be released on January 29, 2025. It covers the vacancies created between July 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024 as well as the vacancies left unfilled in the notification released last year.
Post Office Recruitment Educational Qualification
Educational Qualifications for joining the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) job: The candidate should have a Secondary School Examination Pass Certificate with a pass in Mathematics and English in Class 10. This examination should be conducted by any recognized board under the Government of India/State Governments/Union Territories.
The candidate should have studied at least up to 10th standard in the local language from a recognized board. The details of local language as per the posts decided by the department are given in Annexure-III.

Minimum Age :- 18 years
Maximum Age :- 40 years
Post Office Recruitment Salary Details
The salary will be paid as per the post from Rs. 2,10,000/- to Rs. 29,380/- per month.
Branch Postmaster (BPM): Rs. 12,000/- to Rs. 29,380/-.
Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM): Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 24,470/-.
Doc Sevak: Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 24,470/-

The merit list will be prepared on the basis of conversion of grades/points obtained in the 10th class Secondary School Examination of recognized boards into marks (as explained below).
Post Office Recruitment Application Fee Details
All candidates Application Fee = Rs.100/-
SC/ST, Ex-Serviceman,: 0/-
Fees: Applicants have to pay Rs. 100 (Rupees One Hundred Only) for all the posts notified in the Division Selection. However, all women applicants, SC/ST applicants, PWD applicants and Transwomen applicants are exempted from the fee payment.
Post Office Recruitment Application Process
To obtain the registration number, the applicant has to first register himself/herself on the GDS Online Engagement Portal.
For registration on the portal, applicants must have their own active email ID and mobile number. All important information including shortlisting results, provisional engagement etc. will be sent to the registered mobile number and email only. The department will not communicate with the applicants in any other form.
Once the mobile number is registered, the same number should not be used for registrations of other applicants.
If any duplicate registration is detected by changing the basic details, all such registrations will be removed from the selection process.
An applicant who has forgotten the registration number can retrieve the registration number through the option “Forgot Registration”.
